ABOUT BEN (FOUNDER)

Govern Images arose out of both a hobby and a love for Ben.

As a former rider and trainer, he spent many years abroad before injuring himself competing in 2011, resulting in a return to Australia.

Ben has dabbled in competing and training since his return however finally hung up the boots in 2019.

He has been actively involved in several equestrian sporting clubs in various locations around Australia.

Photography now allows Ben to remain engaged within the Equestrian Community, something that is in his blood and will be for a long time to come!

ABOUT JOHN

John joined Govern Images out of need rather than initial desire.

Wanting to spend time with Ben, he found the only real way to do this was to accompany him to horse events.

Over time, Ben eventually persuaded him to play a bigger role in the business and he is now firmly entrenched and has developed a good eye for the detail needed for commercial photography.

John is the social butterfly of the two and you will often see him chatting to riders, owners and organisers out and about at events.

John has a keen interest in the more artistic side of equestrian photography and regularly takes the lead in portrait and product shoots.

ABOUT JAY

Jay is a very talented Dutch photographer.

His girlfriend Minda roped him into helping her with horses, and now he is volunteering with us to take photos of horses on weekends!

Jay is also learning to ride and has recently started competing in Dressage and Showjumping.

Govern Images is compliant with all requirements of operating a small business in New South Wales and the ACT.

We are fully insured via a comprehensive $20m Public Liability insurance policy and maintain COVIDSafe plans and team members are triple vaccinated at a minimum.

We also hold current National Australian Police Checks, Working with Children and Working With Vulnerable People registrations appropriate to our geographical area of coverage. Evidence of the above can be provided to the event organiser or private clients upon request.

Govern Images attends events where they are invited by the organising committee or seek their permission before attending.

Govern Images openly promotes the events that they will be attending and photographing and as such we take photos on an implied consent basis. This is where competitors are aware that we are attending and accept that they may be photographed.

We make sure that we are completely visible to the general public, you can find us standing in the middle of the jumping arena or right in amongst the action, where the best photos are taken!

If you are attending an event and do not wish to be photographed we are more than happy for you to let us know, we won't be offended, we are very approachable.
